In Screed/Adhesive Bed Underfloor Heating

A 20-25mm thick sand/cement screed is laid over the cables, which have been secured on top of concrete, fibre cement sheeting or even waterproofing. Floor preparation is very important. In Screed heating enables you to use almost any type of floor covering available, e.g. granite, marble, slate or terracotta. However it is especially suited for tiled areas. Carpet and floating timber floors are also possible choices for
having underfloor heating .

Because the heating cables are closer to the surface than an In Slab installation the response time is quicker but the floor's ability to retain heat will be less. All areas are thermostatically controlled and are perfectly suited for connection to a continuous 24 hour tariff with a time switch.

It is important to select the most appropriate cable type for your floor heating system. For In Screed heating, where floor height is not a problem, we recommend the DSIG range. Should building height be a constraint, we recommend the new "Super Thin" Devimat™ for a "no-step" installation. The Devimat™ is so thin, it requires an adhesive / compound bed of only 10mm.
