Conduit Installation Instructions

It is very important to prepare your conduit fittings before beginning your Deviheat™ underfloor heating system installation. This will prevent the possible, and costly, need to cut into or chase a finished wall to gain access to the control box.

COLD TAIL CONDUITS
For the 'Cold Tails' one 20mm (minimum) empty conduit from the top of the finished concrete to switch or thermostat position with a draw wire must be provided.

If more than One heating element is specified per zone, a separate empty 20mm conduit must be provide for each additional element. Please refer to the zones and electrical loadings sheet supplied with design and quote.

For Heating Mats, if more than Two heating mats are specified per zone, an additional empty 20mm (min) conduit must be provided for every additional pair of heating mats installed.

SENSOR PROBE CONDUITS
The Site Electrician must install a conduit for the sensor probe {minimum ID 10mm} for all floor sensing thermostats, from the thermostat/connection point to one of the following:-

For In-Slab Electric Floor Heating - to the 16mm conduit left protruding from the slab

Notice the conduit that holds the sensor probe is installed between the cable loops and is sealed to prevent sand/cement/water from damaging the probe. [in screed floor heating installation pictured]

For In-Screed Electric Floor Heating - down the wall with a wide radius bend across the floor approximately 2m into the room for larger rooms and approx. 400-500mm for Bathrooms etc.

For Thin Electric Floor Heating - down the wall with a wide radius bend across the floor approximately ½-1 m into the room. This conduit {minimum ID 10mm} may need to be partially recessed/grooved into the sub-floor, to allow for minimum screed thickness over.

For Under Timber Electric Floor Heating - down the wall with a wide radius bend under the floor approximately 2m into the room.

The sensor conduit must have no more than 2 large radius bends between the floor and the connection point. The end of the conduit must always remain accessible if removal/insertion of the sensor is ever required in future. Please note, the sensor conduit may be taken into a connection box where it may be extended up to 50 metres to the thermostat location. The sensor must be run in a separate conduit - it must be separated from other cabling. It is the responsibility of the Site Electrician to insert the sensor probes included in the bottom of the Thermostat boxes.
